A Letter to the Girl Who Feels Behind This Year
Hey girl,
If you’ve been feeling like the year is flying by and you’re nowhere close to where you thought you’d be this is for you.
Maybe your goals haven’t unfolded the way you planned. Maybe the vision board you made back in January is now buried under to-do lists, bills, and burnout. Maybe you keep telling yourself, “I’ll start next week,” and next week keeps disappearing. Or maybe you’re just… tired.
You’re not alone.
This year has been hard for so many of us emotionally, financially, and creatively. Life got loud. Unexpected things happened. You might’ve spent more time surviving than thriving. That doesn’t make you behind. That makes you human.
You are allowed to pause.
You are allowed to change your mind.
You are allowed to be a work in progress.
The truth? No one is actually ahead. Everyone is just figuring it out at their own pace, dealing with their own struggles behind the scenes. What you’re seeing online the accomplishments, the glow-ups, the wins that’s someone’s highlight reel. Not their full story.
Your timeline is valid. Your journey is still unfolding. Just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it never will. You are allowed to take a breath and begin again not out of pressure, but out of love for who you’re becoming.
So here’s your permission slip:
To stop beating yourself up.
To stop comparing your path to theirs.
To start where you are, with what you have, and take one small, gentle step forward.
Maybe that means journaling tonight instead of scrolling.
Maybe that means blocking out 30 minutes to plan the rest of your week.
Maybe that means forgiving yourself for resting, for missing deadlines, and for needing time.
There’s still time.
There’s still space.
There’s still you capable, worthy, evolving.
This season doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful. And just because it didn’t look like the Pinterest version of success doesn’t mean it wasn’t growth.
You’re not behind. You’re right on time.
Keep going. 💗
Love,
Kranay
